Traction on Demand & Canlan Ice Sports Win Joint 2015 Technology Impact Award for their Development of the Canlan Player’s Bench Member Community Application

BURNABY, BC – June 8th, 2015Traction on Demand, a Burnaby-based cloud technology services company with extensive expertise on the Salesforce.com platform has been awarded the Technology Impact Award (TIA) for Adoption of Technology by the BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA). This award was presented to both Traction & Canlan Ice Sports for their collaborative work on Canlan’s Player’s Bench community portal for their Adult Safe Hockey League (ASHL) members.

Founded in 1994, the TIAs are broken into three award categories; technology, personal recognition, and company recognition. The Adoption of Technology Award is given each year to a company that implements a custom installation of a solution that significantly improves their customer’s productivity, competitiveness or profitability.

The Player’s Bench support a streamlined operational process for Canlan to effectively administrate the ASHL, collect fees and communicate with league members. It also provides the players with a user-friendly application that enhances their team management capabilities. Most importantly, the Player’s Bench contributes to an amazing league experience that provides Canlan’s 65,000 members across North America with a recreational hockey league experience like none other on the market. I’d argue that this is an incredibly conservative number and that every organization is becoming a technology company. The project that the BCTIA acknowledged as the best “Adoption of Technology” for 2015 represents Canlan and their flagship brand, the ASHL, crossing the chasm from being a provider of sport and ice to customer experience.
