As our UX/UI Designer for Traction Rec, you will be an essential voice in a highly collaborative product team. You do not shy away from ownership over an entire product’s experience – and are excited about the opportunity to join a high performing team, all of whom are driving to build something brand new and exciting. You are inspired by the good you can do in helping non-profits achieve their goals in their communities.
You will help us define a frictionless user experience for new and existing features in an enterprise software product. You will help us understand our customer personas. You will help us make the right feature decisions by providing valuable customer insight. You will represent your vision with wireframes and validate and revise based on your user studies. You will be a present voice as developers implement your designs, ensuring your hard won understanding is represented in the end result.
Traction on Demand’s hiring philosophy is based on culture, intelligence and then skills. Here’s what we mean by that:
Culture at Traction on Demand isn’t about drinking beer and playing ping-pong – it’s much more. We are looking for people who want to join an active community of engaged individuals who see business as more than just a vehicle to make money. We care about our people, wider community and planet. Come join us on this journey!
Traction is a group of entrepreneurs committed to creating ecstatic clients, doing enjoyable work and being efficient in everything we do. We fail fast and love to innovate. Change is our middle name.
Our values don’t just sit on a glossy page. We live by them every day. Our values are the cornerstone of who we are – do they resonate with you?
- Embrace Knowledge
- Do the right thing
- Seek adventures and smiles
- Healthy hearts and heads
- Pursue opportunity
- Build community
People often ask what it takes to succeed at Traction on Demand – you’ve got to be smart, without having an ego. What does that mean? Imagine working with a group of your smartest friends who all love to learn. Everyone is always pushing each other to grow and innovate at a pace that can only be called furious. We are never idle or stagnant. We seek and share knowledge. We are comfortable with the unknown. We just “git ‘r done.”
Tractionites come from a variety of backgrounds, and we are eager to find people that are from non-traditional backgrounds. Typically, we find that people are successful in this role when they have:
- 3+ years of industry experience as a UX designer
- Experience leading user studies, and a clear understanding in applying results of research to product decisions
- Expertise in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Axure, Principle, AdobeCC, InVision, Adobe XD as examples).
- Experience of ownership over product features, taking them through proposal, design, review & implementation
What You Will Be Doing
- Define customer personas, build a growing understanding of customers and their objectives
- Understand and develop business requirements for product features, creating low fidelity mockups, conducting user studies, and converting to higher fidelity mockups ready for implementation by developers
- Work with front end developers to build a design library to enable scale as the product grows
- Collaborate with the team to ensure our customers and their needs are represented
