Education Solution Engineer

As our Solutions Engineer, Education you will be working with our business development team, subject matter experts (sales, service, marketing, data), and lead strategists to bring innovative solutions and strategies that map cloud-based solutions and technologies to meet customer needs, simultaneously supporting the sales flow and Traction’s go-to-market strategy in the education industry.

Skills

Tractionites come from a variety of backgrounds, and we are eager to find people that are from non-traditional backgrounds. Typically, we find that people are successful in this role when they have:

  • 2+ years of experience creating solutions on the Salesforce.com platform
  • Strong business acumen in the education industry, combined with a deep understanding of infrastructure technologies and a broad understanding of SaaS technologies and solutions within the education sector
  • Experience working with or at an education institution, particularly in the areas of infrastructure technology or within specific business units such as Recruiting & Admissions, Student Success, or Advancement & Alumni Engagement
  • Experience teaching or demonstrating the impact of technology to business stakeholders; experience as a Solution/Sales Engineer a plus
  • Salesforce Admin Certification; preferred Education Cloud Consultant Certification, Platform App Builder Certification, or Service Cloud Consultant Certification
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent with time management and prioritization; ability to multi-task with ease
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about producing quality work
  • Embraces a solution oriented mindset; sees challenges as opportunities to solve, not problems to overcome

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead discovery sessions with prospective clients to elaborate on business objectives and goals in regard to their digital change and adoption of the Salesforce platform
  • Craft technical requirements and initial architecture used to build solutions on Salesforce to match client needs
  • Lead the estimation process of prospective education-based opportunities
  • Support building a roadmap or technical vision for education institutions adoption the Salesforce platform
  • Support in statement of work creation
  • Provide technical coaching and development to Business Development team members
  • Work with external account executives and sales engineers to prioritize opportunities
  • Maintain lead/account/opportunity updates within Salesforce.com to manage and prioritize sales opportunities
  • Clearly articulate the benefits of potential solutions to all client levels up to “C” level executives
