In 2013, we were faced with a challenge: move a large group of Tractionites from Vancouver to Dreamforce in San Francisco while minimizing cost and environmental impact. We did that, but found much more than the simple solution we intended to build.
We supplemented our first road trip to San Francisco with philanthropy. We stopped in five cities to perform pro-bono consulting services and random acts of kindness. The Bandit Tour for Good may be the result of logistics, but its true value is found between Vancouver and San Francisco, in every community the Bandits serve.
The Bandit Tour has undergone an evolution over the years, alongside Traction’s own evolution. We face different challenges, so we build new solutions.
In 2016, we introduced Bandit Tour Gone Rogue, sending Tractionites to rural BC to provide opportunities for kids to learn how to code. In 2017, Road Trip launched, with Bandits from our Toronto and Montreal offices working with organizations in Ontario and Quebec. Both of these iterations maintained the essence of what it means to be a Bandit: doing good and having fun.
The 2018 Bandit World Tour is no different. We’re expanding the reach of the Bandit mission to the east coast, driving the four pillars of Traction for Good, our community engagement program, to new people in new places. That means, we’re:
- Building capacity for non-profits
- Inspiring philanthropy
- Growing social business
- Enabling kids to code
This spring, we’re extending our reach to coincide with Salesforce’s New York and Toronto World Tours. The Bandit World Tour is stopping in:
- New York City on April 25
- Montreal on May 1
- Toronto on May 2
We’re looking for non-profits in those cities operating on the Salesforce platform who could use some pro-bono support with report building, training, data or pretty much anything else.
If you work for a non-profit that meets those criteria, please submit an application to participate in the 2018 Bandit World Tour before April 6. If not, please help us spread the word and share the application with a non-profit that does.
P.S. Don’t forget to register for NPSP Day in Toronto on April 19. Join us, cloudStack and Soapbox Engage for a full day of Nonprofit Success Pack learning and networking.
