3 Things I Learned on our First Ever Traction Road Trip (with Video)
Where does the time go? It has been several weeks since the inaugural Traction Road Trip wrapped up in Toronto after Salesforce World Tour. It was an incredible week shared with an amazing group of people. The Road Trip team provided pro-bono Salesforce consultancy services to six non-profit organizations, in four days, across three cities (Montreal–Ottawa–Toronto)! To say we were busy is an understatement. There was definitely no shortage of laughs, learning or memories made. The only shortage we may have encountered was… sleep!
Reflecting back on the week, the things I wish I had known that will prepare me for next year’s Traction Road Trip are:
1. Always have a camera easily accessible
When bringing together a group of Tractionites for a full week adventure, there is undoubtedly going to be lots of hilarious moments. So my number one takeaway would be to have a camera out and ready to capture as many of those moments as possible.
2. Pack earplugs
Bunking in a hostel with seven of your coworkers is a unique opportunity to get to know them very quickly. But the downside is the lack of sleep because, as I found out, Tractionites snore!
3. Live in the moment
With a full agenda planned out for the week, it was easy to get lost in the shuffle of getting from one place to the other. Next year, I will take more time to really absorb the good work that we are doing with these non-profit organizations.
But enough about what I learned on the Road Trip. Watch this video to see what the non-profits had to say about what it was like working with us.
Thank you to all those who welcomed us during our journey. You made the experience truly one for the books, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s Road Trip!
